Back in the 70s there were laws protecting consumers from price fixing - but if you look at gas prices at all the stations in Mexico, MO on any given day, you'd think price fixing is OK these days.
I had a friend suggest looking into why gas prices in Mexico are always higher than some surrounding communities. Today, for instance, gas is $3.19.9 at all the gas stations in Mexico, but just a few miles to the south, in Fulton, the lowest gas price today is $3.12.9 at MFA there.
So I'm working on a story for mexicomaxim.com. I'm waiting on responses from the Missouri Attorney General and Senator Claire McCaskill.
In Mexico, BreakTime and Abel's at the intersection of Monroe and Western could have saved money by building just one electronic sign. As it is, both signs always have the same prices posted. What's the point in that?
So it goes.
